Treatment method: If the overflow and underflow flow are both reduced, it may be that the feed port of the cyclone is blocked. At this time, the nut can be unscrewed to clear the debris in the underflow.
Ten common failures of cyclones and their solutions
Fault 1: Vibration
Treatment method: air suction occurs, use the suction pipe; the material volume is large, change the feed/cyclone parameters; linear discharge, control the inlet; the overflow pipe is deformed, replace the overflow pipe.
Fault 2: Undercurrent density is too low
Treatment method: the feeding condition of the cyclone is incorrect, replace the discharge nozzle/overflow pipe; the size of the discharge nozzle is incorrect, use the correct size discharge nozzle.
Fault 3: Abnormal super granularity
Treatment method: if the outlet is large and the underflow nozzle is severely worn, replace the appropriate underflow nozzle; if the feeding density is too large, check for blockages; if the feeding is reverse flow, replace the easy-to-wear parts.
Fault 4: The cyclone is blocked
Treatment method: the mismatched materials enter the cyclone and check the sieve holes.
Fault 5: Unstable performance
Treatment method: unbalanced material distribution, use the correct distributor; blockage, check blockage.
Fault 6: Failure to reach the classification point/ability
Treatment method: the feed size is incorrect, change the feed/cyclone parameters.
Fault 7: High wear rate
Treatment method: Too much flow-too much pressure drop, change the feeding situation or cyclone parameters; 2 stage operation / need a large size cyclone, change the cyclone parameters; the feed is highly abrasive, change the manufacturing material.
Fault 8: Operating pressure (operating pressure swings in a large range)
Treatment method: pump and cyclone are unbalanced, isolate the cyclone to reach a stable operating pressure or reset the pump speed.
Fault 9: Fan flow is not formed
Treatment method: large amount, large proportion of frothed coal, reduce the amount of coal; unreasonable pressure setting, adjust the pump frequency; low barrel position, small opening of the feed gate, increase the barrel position, and open the gate.
Fault 10: Underflow density is too low
Treatment method: The discharge nozzle is worn or the size is too large, replace with a suitable discharge nozzle.
